4th– Aditya Rawat(RHB) 203-U14 Total Cup ‘18

Played between Sachin Tendulkar XI and Sunil Gavaskar XI which are two really promising teams, Gavaskar XI won the toss and elected to field first with an aim of restricting the opposition to a low total.

Little did they knew that SRT XI has a player who is in smashing form in the past few tournaments and he just continued his purple patch from where he left behind. Aditya Rawat who was in the news recently for scoring a half century as well as bagging 5wkts in the same match continued to impress as this time he went on to score a marathon knock of 201* off 290 deliveries. SRT XI reached 328/4 before they declared with Aditya smashing 65% of the team runs. What’s more he dodged the bowlers with ease while gave proper treatment to the loose deliveries smashing around 35boundaries in his impressive double century.

Sunil Gavaskar XI on the other hand scored 246/7 in 79 overs as the match resulted in a draw but there were definitely some positives with most importantly Aditya once again impressing one and all with his confident batting.

U/16 Dahanu+PDTSA+Chinchani team were all out for 118 and then 97 in the 2nd innings as U/16 Goregaon team won the match outright on the back of Vedant’s double ton

2nd-Vaibhav Kalamkar(RHB) 160- Semi-finals of U/19 Naren Tamhane Tournament ‘18

To perform under pressure and in high intense semi-finals where the pressure is definitely more than the regular games is commendable and that’s the reason U/19 GSC skipper Vaibhav Kalamkar made it into this list.

U/19 GSC techinally could have suffered a batting collapse as only 66runs can be accounted for the 9batsman in the playing XI with remaining runs scored by skipper Vaibhav Kalamkar and solid opener Rishikesh Kulkarni. Rishikesh opening the innings gave a déjà vu’ of former England opener Mike Atherton who would irritate the bowlers by fighting at the crease for long time. Rishikesh dodged the bowlers and engaged in solid cricket which is rare nowadays as he scored 91* off 230balls (8fours) remaining till the end. On the other hand, Skipper Vaibhav Kalamkar confidently counter attacked scoring an elegant 160 off 206balls laced with 13fours and 3sixes at a healthy strike rate of 78.00 while also stitching a 211run stand with Rishikesh taking GSC towards a total of 311 in 94.2 overs.

AND FINALLY THE NO.1

1st– Mohit Tanwar(RHB) 142 in finals-U/14 Summer Vacation Tournament Finals ‘18

Delivering in the finals and standing out as a player is not something everyone can do but Mohit who has batted consistently this season continued to impress in the high intensity finals too as led from the front as the premier batsman of the SRT Team.

SRT team winning the toss batted first notching up 233/10 in 72.1overs. Raj desmukh opening the innings once again scored a classy 50 off mere 44balls giving a positive start to the team while also engaged in a good stand with Mohit Tanwar who came at no.3. It was basically a batting collapse as apart from Raj and Mohit, only 41runs were accounted between 9players. Mohit who came in at no.3 once again played a dazzling innings smashing a superlative 142 off 151balls laced with 14fours and 2sixes. Mohit as usual kept on playing his natural game and kept the scoreboard ticking despite wickets being lost from the other end

Defending a moderate total of 234, SRT boys did a fantastic job of restricting Kalyan+Bhiwandi team to just 169runs as SRT team lifted the title with pride on the back of Mohit’s match winning ton.

U14 SRT team win the finals and win the MCA U14 Summer Vacation Tournament and it was definitely because of great co-ordination amongst the boys with consistent good cricket being played. Mohit Tanwar stole the show in the finals while has a great run scorer in whichever tournaments he has played so far.
