Vinayak Gupta’s 171 Powers the Golden Eagle Club to a win in DDCA League ’22

On March 8, Vinayak Gupta, playing for the Golden Eagle Club, muscled 171 runs off 109 balls against Radheshyam Cricket Club in the DDCA Cricket League, a 40-over tournament in Delhi. The left handed opening batter plundered 18 boundaries and six sixes to bring his second consecutive century in the tournament.

Vinayak told CricketGraph, “The wicket was good to bat on. Initially I took some time to get my eye in and once I was settled I made the most of my start. I have been in good form in the recent past as I had plundered a double century in the same tournament. I am feeling confident about my batting and want to score big runs for my team.”

Vinayak powered his team to a daunting total of 352-7 in 40 overs. His knock was a match winning one as his team went on to win the match by a margin of 191 runs as Radheshyam Cricket Club was bowled out for 161 in the DDCA Cricket League.

At present, Vinayak, who is a left handed batter and a right arm off spinner is a part of Delhi U-25 team. He was also a part of Delhi U-23 and India U-23. He featured in the Asian Cricket Council Emerging Teams Cup in 2019 playing for India U-23. He played a match against Bangladesh in that tournament and mustered 40 runs off 65 balls, batting in the middle order.
