Sarth Waghela’s 69* helps Young Men’s Cricket Club win in Kanga Knock Out Tournament’22
On April 24, Young Men’s Cricket Club and GSB Sports Club clashed against each other during the Kanga Knock Out Tournament. GSB Sports Club won the toss and elected to bat.
Batting first, GSB Sports Club were bundled out for 138 in 35.5 overs. Sairaj Vinayagamoorthy top scored with 55 runs off 60 balls, including five boundaries and a six. On the other hand, for Young Men’s Cricket Club, Ratnadeep Chavan was the wrecker-in-chief. The slow left arm spinner claimed 5-35 in nine overs as he ran through half of the opposition batting line-up in a jiffy.
In reply, Young Men’s Cricket Club made light work of the run chase as they completed the formalities in 23 overs. The opening pair of Rohan Gulekar and Sarth Waghela stitched a 99-run partnership. The duo set the tone for the run chase. While Gulekar muscled 49 runs off 39 balls, Waghela mustered an unbeaten 69 off 71 balls. Waghela top scored for Young Men’s Cricket Club as he led the run chase from the front. His innings was embellished with five boundaries and four sixes. On the other hand, Karan Joshi starred with the ball for GSB Sports Club as he picked up 2-32 in eight overs.
Young Men’s Cricket Club outclassed GSB Sports Club by eight wickets during the Kanga Knock Out Tournament. Sarth Waghela, Rohan Gulekar and Ratnadeep Chahuhan were the top performers of the match.
