Yatin Telang’s Impressive Feat Leads old Monks To Emerge Victorious Over Somaiya Sports Academy

The JFSC Super Cup organized a cricket match on November 1, 2022. It is the first edition of the cricket series by JFSC. The teams, Old Monks and Somaiya Sports Academy were pitted against each other. This match captured moments of intensity, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

The Old Monks emerged victorious by 110 runs with their final score of 185/8.

The Somaiya Sports Academy won the toss and elected to bowl. The first inning witnessed batsmen from Old Monks enter the field and exhibit outstanding performance. Batsman Amar Padhye opened the match. His exceptional qualities as a batsman and his temperament on the field were portrayed effortlessly. He hit his half-century and scored 65 runs off 44 balls. He struck 10 boundaries and 1 six captivating the fielders’ attention. Batsman Ojas Mehta scored 46 runs off 21 balls hitting 5 boundaries and 2 sixes.

Bowlers from Old Monks delivered a smooth performance as well. Yatin Telang with his rhythm picked up 4 wickets with 1 maiden over and set the economy at 2.25. Ultimately, the team Old Monks scored 185 runs.

The Somaiya Sports Academy’s batsman Mangesh Patil opened the second innings. Hitesh Kadam, an all-rounder, scored 13 runs off 17 balls hitting 1 boundary. Bowlers Pratik Garegaonkar and Hitesh Kadam picked up  2 wickets respectively for their team. The team closed off at 75 runs with 10 wickets captured by the opponent team.

Old Monks marked their victory by 110 runs against Somaiya Sports Academy. Yatin Telang was announced as the Player of the Match for his exceptional performance on the field. The Old Monks earned 2 points and their opponents; Somaiya Sports Academy earned 0 points.

The match concluded with great enthusiasm and good spirit with an elevated response of joy from the cricketers.
