Mumbai Skipper Musheer Khan’s Exceptional Run In The Vinoo Mankad Trophy
Musheer Khan, better known as the brother of IPL star Sarfaraz Khan, is making a mark of his own. The all rounder performed exceptionally in the ongoing U-19 Vinoo Mankad. Contributing well for his team, Khan lead from the front and took Mumbai to the first stage of the knockouts. Notching up a total of 341 with an average of 113, Musheer stood out against his peers.
Opening the batting, Musheer’s crucial innings set the tone for the innings. In the Maharashtra Derby, he scored a brilliant 72. Khan contributed with the ball too as he bowled 5 overs and gave away only 10 runs and took two wickets against Maharashtra.
Following the process, he missed out a century by just 3 runs against Chattisgarh and also purchased 3 wickets in that game. Chasing against Nagaland, he stayed not out on 49. The impressive aspect being, he finished his quota of 10 overs at the economy rate of under 3 against both teams.
Continuing his form in the knockouts, Khan hammered an emphatic 123 off 109 balls against Punjab propelling Mumbai’s score to 309. Unfortunately, Mumbai’s campaign was cut short as Punjab’s late heroics defeated the mighty Mumbaikars in the quarters which resulted in their exit from the tournament.
Regardless of the team result, Musheer Khan has made a fine case for himself in the domestic circuit. Last year’s benchwarmer in the Mumbai Ranji Trophy squad, Musheer eyes on making hiis debut for Mumbai.
