Jay Jain and Jay Dhatrak steer Singhania School to a victory in the finals of U/14 Singhania Tournament
It was the all important finals of the U/14 Singhania tournament held at the Raymond’s Cricket Ground in Mumbai. Sri Maa Vidyalaya won the toss & elected to bat first in order to make a big score and put Singhania boys under pressure.
However, Singhania boys have proved throughout the tournament how strong they are with the bat and the ball as they bundled out Sri Maa Vidyalaya school to just 88/10 in 23overs. Right-arm off spinner Jay Dhatrak once again showed his mettle with the ball as he came up with envious bowling figures of 4/19 in his 6overs followed by 3wkts for left-arm spinner Nirek Gavand & 1 wkt for Aryan Dalal.
Chasing 89 had become a mere formality for the Singhania boys as they chased down the score in just 15 overs with the loss of just 1wkt. Opener Jay Jain continued his brilliant form till the finals as he remained unbeaten on 56* to help his team cross the victory line in style.
Singhania School won the finals by 9wkts and Jay Dhatrak & Jay Jain were declared ‘man of the match’. Also both the boys have been in a tremendous form throughout the series. While Jay Jain has scored over 430 runs in 7 matches which includes 4 50’s & a hundred with 4 not-outs at an astounding average of 143.33, Spinner Jay Dhatrak has scalped 19wkts while also scoring 239 runs with the bat. The boys certainly look promising for a bright future in cricket & Cricketgraph congratulates the winning team & all the players for a great cricketing year ahead.
