Bombay Gymkhana beat Fort Vijay Cricket Club to enter the semi-finals of MCA U19 Mangrol Cricket Tournament’22
On April 21, Bombay Gymkhana took on Fort Vijay Cricket Club during the quarter final of MCA U19 Mangrol Cricket Tournament. Fort Vijay Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Riding on Anshul Murli’s delectable 113 off 90 balls, Bombay Gymkhana posted a stiff target of 6-303 in 40 overs. Murli, who opened the batting, hammered 15 boundaries and two sixes during his blitzkrieg. Wasim Ashraf was the other major contributor with the bat. Coming lower down the order, Ashraf smashed an unbeaten 69 off 34 balls to help his side go past the 300-run mark. On the other hand, Sachin Kumar was the pick of the bowlers for Fort Vijay Cricket Club. Kumar claimed 2-52 in eight overs.
In reply, Fort Vijay Cricket Club were bowled out for 240 in 37.5 overs, losing the match by 63 runs. Siddhant Rai top scored with 68 runs off 62 balls. With the ball, for Bombay Gymkhana, Moin Shaikh, Sohan Talekar and Pranay Rana wreaked havoc picking up three wickets apiece. Shaikh, who opened the bowling was the most economical bowler as he conceded just 29 runs in seven overs.
Anshul Murli, Wasim Ashraf and Moin Shaikh were the top performers of the match. The trio helped Bombay Gymkhana beat Fort Vijay Cricket Club by 63 runs to enter the semi-finals of MCA U19 Mangrol Cricket Tournament.
