Ajanta Pharma cruises into semi finals of the E Div Times Shield’20

Into the all important quarter-finals at Cross Maidan between two corporate giants namely Datamatics Global & Ajanta Pharma Sports Club. Datamatics after being put to bat first were all out for 60 runs in 22.5 overs. It might be a jolt for Datamatics as they have performed well throughout the season only to face a batting collapse in the crucial quarter finals. From the bowlers, all-rounder Jayesh Mhatre was bang on taking 3/8 in 5 overs coupled with 3 maidens. Apart from Jayesh, Prashant and Akshay Ambine were also quite tight with their line and lengths bagging two wickets each. Akshay in particular took 2/3 in 4 overs alongwith a maiden.

Getting inside scoops of match from Coach Sameer Gawas– “Opening bowler of Ajanta Pharma Jayesh Mhatre took 1st wicket in the very 2nd ball of the match of in form Yogesh Shinde  who has 2 back to back centuries before this game and then on the 5th ball Jayesh took wicket of Rohan Bhosle caught @ gully (brilliant catch by Haresh Jadhav). Next over bowled by Gitesh Pandere and he took wicket of Malangnath Aras (Captain of Datamatics). Second over of Jayesh Mhatre he took a wicket of Om Keshkkamat by caught behind, Ganesh Kadam (wicket keeper of Ajanta) he took excellent diving catch.  Datamatics were 8 for 4, Neeraj Singh & Suraj Singh tried their best to build up a partnership but then Ajanta’s last match hero Prashant Prindavankar cleared the way of Neeraj Singh.  Suraj Singh & Rasik Naik tried their best to build up the inning but Akshay Ambike’s tight bowling changed the game in favor of Ajanta Pharma”

Chasing 61 for obvious reasons was going to be a cakewalk for Ajanta Pharma team as they chased down the total with 9 wkts in hand in just 8.4 overs. Opener Ganesh Kadam remained unbeaten on 31* as his team smoothly surpassed the target qualifying for the semi finals of Times Shield E Div.
