In-form Chinmay Sutar scores his 3rd consecutive ton to stamp his class in Mumbai Cricket
20yr old Chinmay who started off with a brilliant ton vs DY Patil in the Police Shield tournament against a quality bowling attack followed it up with a scorching ton vs DPC Sports club in the Purshottam Shield Tournament ’17 and it was not done yet. Chinmay kept on scoring runs as he notched up his 3rd consecutive ton vs Nirlon in the Times Shield where he scored a scintillating 127 off mere 81 deliveries.
In the match against DPC sports club which was played on 25th Novemeber, Sind SC had won the toss and elected to bat first considering their good batting line up and favorable batting conditions at the Dadkar maidan. Openers Khushal and Akhil once again gave a terrific start while right handed Chinmay who came in at no.4 continued the positive momentum left behind by the openers as he went on to score an elegant yet aggressive 146* off137balls which set the tone for Sind SC innings. Chinmay who smashed 20fours and 4sixes let his bat do the talking as he completely appeared effortless against all the bowlers to bring up his 2nd consecutive ton after his ton vs DY patil in police shield which helped Sind Sc win the match by 122runs.
The next match which followed was of Times Shield Tournament 2017 wherein he played for Reliance energy vs Nirlon SC on 28-29-30 November ‘17. In that match his team lost the toss as Nirlon notched up 566runs before they declared their innings where Abhishek Srivastava top scored with 130. Reliance Energy in reply were all out for 231 but the boy who stoodout from Reliance energy was once again Chinmay as he scored 127 off mere 81deliveries (18fours, 4sixes) at a time when the rest of the batsman were struggling. Even though his team lost the match outright but Chinmay was the bright spot from the losing team as he notched up his 3rd consecutive ton in a span of 3weeks. 20yr old Chinmay who is studying in his last year of B.com and practices in BKC as well as in Thane sometimes is looking really solid and also plays some great cricketing shots and if he keeps on playing with this much consistency, there is possibly a bright future in cricket waiting for him.
