50 Yr Old Veteran Bombay leg-spinner Subodh Chhabria finally represents India.

I used to say ..”I was born to play cricket for India…Dreams do come true”- and his dream has finally come true. 

He has been actively involved in the Mumbai cricket circuit and has represented various top clubs in different tournaments. Subodh has had the privilege of training with Terry Jenner, who coached the legendary leg spinner Shane Warne. His bowling action reflects the influence of this training.

Subodh’s cricket journey extends beyond Mumbai, as he has played in countries like Australia, U.K, and U.A.E. India’s campaign in the tournament begins on July 2nd against the USA 50+ team, followed by a game against England on July 6th, 2023.

In addition to his playing career, Subodh is a certified level 1 coach under the ICC GCA program conducted by the ICC in Dubai. He is also associated with the World Cricket Academy, which offers comprehensive cricket learning experiences to overseas teams, such as the Sid Lahiri Cricket Academy (U.K) in Nagpur.

As a net bowler, Subodh has had the opportunity to bowl to various international and IPL teams, including the Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, England Cricket Team, South Africa Cricket Team, Australian Cricket Team, and the Indian Cricket Team.

Some notable highlights of Subodh’s career include being a member of the Cricket Club of India (CCI), who were the runners-up in the prestigious Purshottam Shield tournament in Mumbai. He has also served as a net bowler for teams like Albert Tuti Patriots in the TNPL 2016 tournament, England Cricket Team, South African Cricket Team, Australian Cricket Team, Indian Cricket Team, England Lions Squad, Mumbai Indians, and Rajasthan Royals. Subodh has had the opportunity to bowl to renowned Indian cricketers such as Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, M.S Dhoni, Virender Sehwag, and Gautam Gambhir. He was ranked 39th in the Surrey Championship All Bowler’s statistics and was called for tryouts for the Surrey 2s by Ian Salisbury.

Subodh has also played for Panjim Gymkhana, one of the premier clubs in the Goa Cricket Association, and participated in the Goa Cricket Association Super League Tournament. In 2009, he played for Brook Cricket Club in the Surrey Cricket Championship in the U.K, where he emerged as the highest wicket-taker for the club with an impressive tally of 75 wickets.
