Swanand Palav & Shourya Oswal star in Don Bosco’s win in MD Memorial Cup

Don Bosco CA handed a six-wicket defeat to PAB Cricket Club on January 5 during the MD Memorial Cup. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, PAB Cricket Club was skittled out for a paltry 78 in 20 overs. Sharavan Gave (16) and Ajay Pal (20) were the top contributors with the bat for PAB Cricket Club. On the other hand, Dos Bosco CA’s Shourya Oswal was the pick of the bowlers with 6/3 in four overs.

In reply, Dos Bosco CA cruised to the target in 10 overs and won the match by six wickets. Captain Swanand Palav led the run chase from the front with an unbeaten 20 off 22, including three boundaries. On the other hand, PAB Cricket Club’s Ajay Pal, Darsh Singhania, Harsh Patil, and Kunj Patel claimed one wicket apiece.

Cricket is a sport that Juili picked up right from her childhood days. Her journey from playing with the boys in the compound walls to practising under the able aegis of Jonty Rhodes has been a spectacular one.
She was a part of Mumbai Women’s U-19 and U-23 probables during her four-year stint at the MCA. As a middle order bat and a part time medium pace bowler, she also represented Mumbai University at All-India University Women’s Cricket for two years.

In the quest of further education, she discontinued with the sport. Currently she is pursuing her Ph.D in Finance from IIT Bombay’s School of Management.
