India is a cricket crazy nation. It had been in the past and it will be in the future. And this craziness is not limited only to following the national team winning accolades. It’s the passion that runs in the blood of more than 120 crore Indians which also explains a cricket bat and ball being seen in almost every street of the country, literally. So it is safe to assume that there is no dearth of local cricket talent in our country.
With the commercializing of cricket, local cricket is not really local in the sense that the reach of the game has increased geographically. Young kids now have the opportunity to play with the best, a thing that was never heard of in the past. They are provided with the best of facilities and groomed in such a way that they are able to follow their passion and earn their living.
In our endeavour to provide the local cricket a platform that it truly deserves, we present before you a short coverage on St. George Cricket Club, located in Mumbai, its activities and tours and the man responsible for providing these opportunities to youngsters, Mr. Sanjay Hadapi, Team Coordinator.
