Shreyash Khilare’s 134 Puts Mumbai U-16 in Command Against Madhya Pradesh

Mumbai U-16 put together a strong batting performance against Madhya Pradesh U-16 in the All India U-16 Late J.Y. Lele Invitation Two-Day Tournament 2026-27, with young batter Shreyash Khilare leading the way with an impressive century.

Batting first, Mumbai posted 414/6 in 90 overs, putting themselves in a commanding position before Madhya Pradesh were bowled out for 204 in their first innings.

Coming in at No. 3, Shreyash played a composed yet attacking knock of 134 runs from 197 balls. His innings included 14 fours and three sixes, as he spent valuable time at the crease and helped Mumbai build a substantial total.

Shreyash’s innings was particularly important in the context of a two-day game. Rather than simply scoring quickly, he showed the temperament to occupy the crease and build a big innings, giving Mumbai the platform to cross the 400-run mark.

Madhya Pradesh found themselves under pressure when their reply ended at 204 all out. Mumbai’s first-innings total gave them a lead of 210 runs, putting them firmly ahead on the scoreboard.

With time still left in the match, Mumbai returned to bat for their second innings and reached 30 before the day came to an end. With no further play possible, Mumbai finished the day with the first-innings lead firmly in their favour.

For Shreyash, the innings adds another significant chapter to his growing cricket journey. The young batter is a player from Sanjeevani Cricket Academy and trains under the guidance of coach Satish Samant, continuing his development through competitive age-group cricket.

With Mumbai already holding a sizeable first-innings advantage, the next phase of the match will be about how they use that position and how Madhya Pradesh respond when play resumes.
