Shon slams century; Praveer claim 5 for 35 In Ajit Naik U14 Semis

Mumbai, May 28: Shon Korgaonkar batted confidently and scored a century 116 runs to help Young Zoroastrian, Azad Maidan Centre post a challenging total of 285 all out in 68.3 overs in their first innings against Nerul Gymkhana, Nerul Centre on the first of their two-day semi-final of the 26th Late Ajit Naik Memorial Under-14 selection trials cricket tournament 2023, organised by Worli Sports Club under the aegis of the Mumbai Cricket Association and played at the MCA SRT ground, Kandivali on Sunday.

In the second semi-final, Municipal Ground, Nallasopara Centre’s bowler Praveer Singh claimed 5 wickets for 35 runs and they restricted Bhayander Municipal Ground Center to 264 all out in 68.3 overs in their first innings.

Besides Shon’s fine knock his teammates Dhairya Patil scored 51 runs and Advait Rahate made 32 runs to lift the Young Zoroastrian innings. Nerul Gymjhana’s Ishaan Bhere 3 for 16 and Shoaib Ansari 3 for 35 claimed the wickets. Nerul Gymkhana were 21 for no loss in 4 overs at the end of the day’s play.

Bhayander Municipal Ground Center’s Aarav Malhotra top-scored with 82 runs while Varun Ghone and Aarav Gupta scored 54 and 42 runs respectively which helped to prop the innings. Praveer received good support from Veer Shinde 3 for 76 and Atharva Kini 2 for 55. Nallasopara Center were 5 for no loss, 4 overs when stumps were drawn.
