Rutvik Sangdore scores a 58ball 87 to steer Meridian School to a win in the U-16 Champions Tournament
Yet another promising knock from a player who is still playing in the U-16 tournament but batting like a pro. Fresh from a recent brutal hundred (130 off 61) against Santosh Sports Academy, Rutvik is still not done yet as he again came up with a solid & aggressive knock of 87 coming off just 58 balls.
New Era school won the toss & elected to bat first in order to capitalize on the batting conditions & post a big total on the board. However things turned out to be quite different as New Era school totally crumbled & none of their batsman were able to trouble the opposition. New Era school was all out for just 156 runs & it was really some tight bowling perfomance by the Meridian bowlers. Right-arm medium pacer Manas Shah was the pick of the bowlers scalping 3wkts in his 5 overs & he was nicely supported by the other bowlers too who succeeded in taking regular wickets & containing the batsman.
Chasing 156, it was a tough fight given by the New Era bowlers as they fought till the very end taking as many as 7wkts of the opposition but it was their in-form Rutvik Sangdore who once again acted as the savior for his side scoring a match winning 87 off just 58balls. Left-handed Rutvik smashed 10 fours & 2sixes to rattle the opposition & help his team win the match by 3wkts.
Cricketgraph congratulates the whole team & rutvik for their win. Looking at Rutvik’s current form, he is certainly the batsman to look out for in the coming matches of the tournament.
