Prasad Pawar & Sagar Mishra shine for Payyade Sports Club

Bhatnagar S&C Foundation and Payyade Sports Club locked horns against each other during the Young Comrade Shield. The game was played from December 24 to 25. Payyade Sports Club won the toss and elected to bat.

Batting first, Payyade Sports Club piled up 251/9 in 70 overs. Prasad Pawar top-scored with 77, and Sagar Mishra (41) and Jayesh Chandankar (34) were the other major contributors with the bat. On the other hand, Bhatnagar S& C Foundation’s Ajit Yadav was the pick of the bowlers with 52/3.

Chasing a respectable score of 252, Bhatnagar S&C Foundation were bundled out for 188 in 50.1 overs and lost the match by 63 runs. Sachin Rao (51) and Aaradhya Shinde (32) fought hard but failed to see their side home. On the other hand, Payyade Sports Club’s Sagar Mishra was the most successful bowler with 55/4. Musheer Khan also bowled well and accounted for 46/3.

Cricket is a sport that Juili picked up right from her childhood days. Her journey from playing with the boys in the compound walls to practising under the able aegis of Jonty Rhodes has been a spectacular one.
She was a part of Mumbai Women’s U-19 and U-23 probables during her four-year stint at the MCA. As a middle order bat and a part time medium pace bowler, she also represented Mumbai University at All-India University Women’s Cricket for two years.

In the quest of further education, she discontinued with the sport. Currently she is pursuing her Ph.D in Finance from IIT Bombay’s School of Management.
