Patade’s all-round show & Powale’s half century steers Nanavati Hospital to a win in the Jamshedji Jeejeebhoy Tournament’21

After being put to bat first by Breach Candy at the Cross Maidan (Youth’s Own Union Ground), Nanavati Hospital scored a more than decent total of 175/3 in 20 overs. Openers Dinesh Pawar (30 runs) and Akshay Powale stitched a very good opening start forging almost 60 runs in the first 6 overs. Akshay Powale top scored for his team scoring 53 off mere 28 balls smashing 7 fours in it. Praful Tambe (42 runs) and Pratik Patade (37*) also chipped in with crucial contributions at the middle order ensuring their team reaches a decent total on board.

Defending 176, Breach Candy in reply could only muster 125/3 in 20 overs with opener Pradeep Kshirsagar batting through the innings remaining unbeaten on 53*. Nanavati Hospital bowlers really did a good job of keeping the batsman in check and not allowing the opposition to free their hands. Almost, all the bowlers chipped in with contributions but it was all-rounder Pratik Patade with 2/13 in 4 overs being the pick of the lot.

Result: Nanavati Hospital win by 50 runs

Man of the Match: Akshay Powale
