Opener Hemali Borwankar’s 71 steers MCA Women’s C to a win in the MCA Women’s One Day Tournament’21
MCA Women’s Team B opting to bat first at Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana ground at Kandivali were all out for 194/10 in 45 overs. Even though none of the players could make a big score, most of their players chipped in with starts with opener Sanika Chalke (35) & Mahi Thakkar (34*) being the top scorers for their team. From the bowlers, Jagravi Pawar with 3/40 was the pick of the lot.
Chasing 195,opener Hemali Borwankar made the chase look easy as she played a brilliant innings of 71 runs off 70 balls (8 fours). Hemali kept the scoreboard ticking rotating the strike as well as hitting boundaries despite wickets falling from the other end. Jagravi Pawar (34) and Prashansha (25) at the lower middle order played crucial cameos as MCA Women’s chased down the score in 44th over winning the match by 1 wicket.
