Nilay Pawar’s Four-fer steers shivaji Park Gymkhana to a win in LNCC Tournament’22

On May 5, Shivaji Park Gymkhana took on Fort Vijay at Cross Maidan in Mumbai during the LNCC Tournament. Fort Vijay won the toss and elected to field first.

Put in to bat, Shivaji Park Gymkhana put together 8-245 in 37 overs. The opening pair of Sahil Gode and Pratik Shukla stitched a 118-run partnership in 18.5 overs to lay a solid foundation. While Shukla muscled 63 runs off 59 balls, Gode packed a punch with 104 runs off 98 balls. On the other hand, Fort Vijay’s Akhilesh Shimpi and Naufil Rozan were the two wicket-takers as they scalped 4-49 and 3-43 respectively.

In reply, Fort Vijay managed to score 9-175 in 37 overs, thanks to opening batter Sahil Jadhav who top scored with 53-ball 43. Mihir Agarwal (27) and Akhilesh Shimpi (21) also made useful contributions with the bat. On the other hand, Shivaji Park Gymkhana’s Nilay Pawar wreaked havoc with the ball picking up 4-34. The off spinner was the most successful bowler in his team.

Shivaji Park Gymkhana beat Fort Vijay by 70 runs in the LNCC Tournament. Captain of Shivaji Park Gymkhana Sahil Gode won the player of the match for his 98-ball 104.
