Nikhil’s 118* and Sahil’s 91 steer Eknath Shinde CC II to a 205-run victory in the Thane Premier League

Riding on Nikhil Patil Jr.’s stellar century, Eknath Shinde Cricket Club II demolished AT Sports by a mammoth margin of 205 runs on Thursday at Dadoji Konddev Stadium in the Thane Premier League.

Batting first, Eknath Shinde Cricket Club II raced to a daunting total of 258/4 in 20 overs. Nikhil’s undefeated knock of 118 from  just 48 balls was the biggest highlight of the day. His innings was embellished with nine fours and as many sixes. Before Nikhil’s heroics, opening batter Sahil Gode hammered 91 runs from mere 36 balls, including a dozen fours and five sixes. Sahil and Nikhil’s blitzkrieg kept AT Sports’ bowlers at bay. Yogesh Sawant was the pick of the bowlers for AT Sports with two wickets.

Chasing a monumental 259, AT Sports were dwindled out for a miserly 53. Like the batters, the bowlers of Eknath Shinde Cricket Club II had an excellent outing as they bowled well in tandem. Hemant Buchade, Amit Pandey, and Arjun Shetty chipped with a couple of wickets apiece. Conversely, AT Sports had a disappointing day with the bat too, as Kaushik Shukla (18) and Shivam Ghosh (15) were the only two batters to muster a double-digit score.

Eknath Shinde Cricket Club II registered a convincing win over AT Sports in the Thane Premier League.

Cricket is a sport that Juili picked up right from her childhood days. Her journey from playing with the boys in the compound walls to practising under the able aegis of Jonty Rhodes has been a spectacular one.
She was a part of Mumbai Women’s U-19 and U-23 probables during her four-year stint at the MCA. As a middle order bat and a part time medium pace bowler, she also represented Mumbai University at All-India University Women’s Cricket for two years.

In the quest of further education, she discontinued with the sport. Currently she is pursuing her Ph.D in Finance from IIT Bombay’s School of Management.
