Ambernath Rising CC pip Salgaonkar CC by 104 runs in Thane Premier League

The 12th edition of the Thane Premier League started with a bang as Ambernath Rising CC handed a crushing 104-run defeat to Salgaonkar CC on Wednesday at the Dadoji Konddev Stadium. The tournament was inaugurated by Sulakshan Kulkarni, former Ranji cricketer.  

Invited to bat first, Ambernath Rising CC piled up a daunting total of 186/9 in 20 overs. Riding on twin half-centuries from Shubham Punyarthi (63; 40b, 4×5, 6×3) and Prasad Pawar (54; 34b, 4×4, 6×1), Ambernath Rising CC set a formidable target for Salgaonkar CC. Apart from Punyarthi and Pawar, there were no other major contributions from Ambernath Rising CC as the bowlers of Salgaonkar CC kept coming at them. Kiran Salgaonkar and Dhruv Kothi were the most successful bowlers as they accounted for three wickets apiece.

In response, Salgaonkar CC had a horrid day with the bat as they were bundled out for a paltry 82 in 19.5 overs. Ronith Ramesh (13), Neil Savla (18), and Pranav Tillu (19) were the only three batters to score in double digits. The bowlers of Ambernath Rising CC had a fantastic day at the office, with Pariskshit Valsangkar, Saud Mansoori, Bhavesh Patel, and Bhavin Darji scalped two wickets each. 

The one-sided affair was sealed by Ambernath Rising CC as they registered a mammoth 104-run victory over Salgaonkar CC.
