National School Girls Team Win the prestigious MCA Inter School Cricket Championship’19

It was the all important finals at the Sainath Sports Club where in National School Girls and St.Xaviers took on each other with NHS winning the toss and opting to bat first.

National High School girls made 136/10 in 19.2 overs with their openers Sara Sampat and Prapti Nibde scoring crucial cameos of 38 & 30 runs. Medium pacer Jayshree Bhutiya was the pick of the bowler taking 4 wkts for 60 runs in 10 overs.

St.Xaviers were made to face some really tight bowling as NHS girls successfully defended a low total restricting the opposition to 114/6 in 20 overs. Left-arm bowler Vedashi Patil was simply spot on with the ball coming up with a match winning spell of 4/44 in 10 overs.

Prapti Nibade and Sara Sampat

National School girls won the finals and win the prestigious tournament for their school on the back of great team performance. Even in the Semi-finals, National School Girls created history by scoring 224 runs for no loss in 20 overs against John Cannon School. Opening pair made an unbeaten partnership of 224 runs where in Prapti Nibade scored 89*& Sara Samant 77*.

Way to go for the girls as Women’s Cricket keeps on growing leaps and bounds.
