Mayuresh, Shantanu, Omkar & Rohan shine in Souvenir’s Cricket Club’s 146-run win
Souvenir Cricket Club crushed thane Friends Union Cricket Club by 146 runs during their Mumbai Junior Shield clash. Souvenir Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat at Azad Maidan, Mumbai, on January 29.
Riding on triple half-centuries from Mayuresh Kulaye (95), Shantanu Tandale (76), and Omkar Ghadigaonkar (50), Souvenir Cricket Club posted a mammoth 345/8 in 44 overs. While Kulaye hammered eight boundaries, Tandale smashed six fours, with Ghadigaonkar hitting six boundaries and two sixes. For Thane Friends Union Cricket Club, Sangram Shirke was the pick of the bowlers. Shirke scalped 69/3 in eight overs.
In reply, Thane Friends Union Cricket Club were restricted to 199/7 in 39.5 overs, losing the match by 146 runs. Aditya Gangare (52) and Sangram Shirke (58 not out) fought hard with their valiant knocks; however, the duo failed to see their side home. For Sovenir Cricket Club, Rohan Bane wreaked havoc with the ball, claiming 44/4 in nine overs.
