Akhand Singh steers Tata Power to a 110-run win over Jaslok Hospital

Centurion Akhand Singh guided Tata Power to a 110-run win over Jaslok Hospital during their Times Shield ‘E ‘Division clash. Jaslok Hospital won the toss and elected to field at Cross Maidan, Mumbai, on January 28.

Put into bat first, Tata Power were bowled out for 227 in 34.5 overs. Akhand Singh starred with the bat for Tata power with a stellar 104 off 75, including 12 boundaries and a six. Singh, 19, is a wicket-keeper and opening batter, who also plays for Wellington Cricket Club. For Jaslok Hospital, Nitin Solanki was the wrecker-in-chief with the ball, as he snapped 42/4 in nine overs.

In reply, Jaslok Hospital made heavy weather of the run chase as they were skittled for a paltry 117 in 32 overs. They lost the match by 110 runs. Sachin top-scored with 22 for Jaslok Hospital and was the lone warrior in the fight. For Tata Power, Garv Jain was the pick of the bowlers with 21/3 in nine overs, including two maidens.
