Hridhaan Mistry shines in Samvedi Kalpavriksha’s win in MD Memorial Cup

Samvedi Kalpavriksha CA took on RC Sports Club on January 5 during the MD Memorial Cup. RC Sports Club won the toss and elected to field.

Riding on Hridhaan Mistry’s 51, Samvedi Kalpavriksha CA posted a competitive total of 130/6 in 20 overs. Mistry hit five boundaries in his 55-ball innings. On the other hand, RC Sports Club’s Soham Kadam and Divit Shah were the most successful bowlers, with two scalps each.

In reply, RC Sports Club fought hard but fell shy of 15 runs in the end. RC Sports Club were restricted to 115/9 in 20 overs. Vasu Gupta top-scored with a 26-ball 31, including three hits to the fence. On the other hand, Samvedi Kalpavriksha CA’s Samarth Mudgal was the pick of the bowlers with 14/2 in four overs. There were six run outs in RC Sports Club’s batting innings.

Cricket is a sport that Juili picked up right from her childhood days. Her journey from playing with the boys in the compound walls to practising under the able aegis of Jonty Rhodes has been a spectacular one.
She was a part of Mumbai Women’s U-19 and U-23 probables during her four-year stint at the MCA. As a middle order bat and a part time medium pace bowler, she also represented Mumbai University at All-India University Women’s Cricket for two years.

In the quest of further education, she discontinued with the sport. Currently she is pursuing her Ph.D in Finance from IIT Bombay’s School of Management.
