Eknath Shinde Cricket Club II hold their nerves to make it to the semi-final of Thane Premier League

In a humdinger of a clash, Eknath Shinde Cricket Club II snatched victory from the jaws of defeat as they beat Benetton Cricket Club by one wicket in the quarter-final of the Thane Premier League on Monday at Dadoji Konddev Stadium.

Riding on Kiran Solkar’s fantastic knock of 61 from 47 balls, Benetton Cricket Club II scored 123/8 in 20 overs. The left-handed opening batter smashed half a dozen fours and two sixes. However, besides Solkar, there were not too many major contributions from the batters of Benetton Cricket Club II as the bowlers of Eknath Shinde Cricket Club II bowled decisive lines and lengths. Dhrumil Matkar starred with the ball as he claimed 3/22 in four overs. He bagged the player of the match award for his match-winning bowling performance. 

Chasing a modest 124, Eknath Shinde Cricket Club II completed the formalities in 19.3 overs with one wicket in hand. Atul Singh was the top run-getter with a 31-ball 28, that included three hits to the fence. Benetton Cricket Club had a good outing with the ball however failed to hold their nerves towards the business end of the match. Saif Khan, Rahul Solkar, and Abhishek Srivastava scalped two wickets apiece. 

With this win, Eknath Shinde Cricket Club II have made it to the semi-final of the Thane Premier League.
