Bravish Shetty scores 186 in the Finals of the Padmakar Talim Shield Cricket Tournament
It was the all important Finals of the Padmakar Talim Shield Cricket Tournament between Parsee Gymkhana and New Hind Sports Club at MIG Stadium in Mumbai. New Hind won the toss and elected to field first though the conditions were favorable for batting.
Parsee Gymkhana who have some big names including the IPL Star Suryakumar Yadav did a very good job with the bat to score 360/6 in 42 overs. It was a total carnage as the run rate was always above 8.5 runs per over. Right handed opener Bravish Shetty turned all the heads towards him as he displayed one of the finest knocks of the tournament. Bravish Shetty scored a splendid 186 off just 139 balls and almost stayed till the end (till the 39th over). Bravish’s knock was a right mixture of controlled aggression and good hitting whenever it was needed as not only was he good in running between the wickets but he also smashed 20 fours and 3 big sixes in his 139 ball stay at the crease. Star player Suryakumar Yadav and Arjun Shetty also capitalized the good batting conditions as they both scored 62 & 59* respectively.
Chasing at almost 9 runs per over, New Hind Sports Club could not catch up with the speed required and they were all out for 231 in 40.3 overs. Left-handed Sagar Mishra scored a well fought 62 followed by 45* from Akshay Jambhekar. Fast bowler Shivam Malhotra was the pick of the bowlers scalping three wickets along with leg spinner Pranav Sharma who also bagged 3 wickets.
