Ayush Vartak’s century helps Route Mobile take 1st inns. lead against DTDC

Route Mobile Limited took on DTDC during the Times Shield ‘B’ Division match at National Cricket Club ground, Mumbai.

Batting first, Route Mobile posted 320 in 103.5 overs, thanks to Ayush Vartak’s stellar century. Vartak smashed 114 off 199 and hit 19 boundaries and one six. For DTDC, Saksham Parashar was the pick of the bowlers with 43/3 in 10 overs, including three maidens.

In reply, DTDC were bowled out for 238 in 70 overs. Maxwell Swaminathan top-scored with a 65-ball 52, including eight hits to the fence. For Route Mobile, Asif Shaikh and captain Saeed Shaikh wreaked havoc with the ball, claiming four wickets apiece.

Taking a healthy lead of 82 runs, Route Mobile added another 142 to their tally to set a target of 225. Aaditya Srivastava starred with the bat for Route Mobile mustering 57 off 92, including 10 fours and a six. For DTDC, Yogesh Sawant was the most successful bowler with 32/4 in 15 overs, including four maidens.

Chasing 225, DTDC were restricted to 211/8 in 22 overs before the match ended in a draw. DTDC scored at almost 10 runs per over to achieve the unachievable. Saksham Parashar led the run chase from the front with 62 off 40, hitting three fours and as many sixes. On the other hand, Route Mobile’s Ravinder Solanki rattled the opposition with 95/6 in 10 overs.
