Atharva Kore scripts a 9-wicket win for powal CA in MD Memorial Cup
On January 3, Powal CA and Samvedi Kalpavriksha CA clashed against each other during the MD Memorial Cup. Samvedi Kalpavriksha CA won the toss and elected to bat first.
Samvedi Kalpavriksha CA were restricted to a paltry score of 95/9 in 20 overs. Besides Yuvaan Gurav (28) and Samartha Churi (17), none of the other Samvedi Kalpavriksha CA batters could score in double digits. On the other hand, Powal CA’s Moksh Shah and Bhaskar were the most successful bowlers with two scalps apiece. While Shah accounted for 9/2 in four overs, Bhaskar bagged 14/2 in two overs.
Chasing a modest total of 96, Powal CA cruised to the target in 14.3 overs and won the match by nine wickets. Opening batter Atharva Kore top-scored with an unbeaten 52 off 47, peppering the boundary rope eight times. On the other hand, Samvedi Kalpavriksha CA’s Prayag Vaidya was the only wicket-taker with 14/1 in two overs.
