It was a great start to the tournament with two teams entering into a competitive encounter at Payyade Cricket Ground in Kandivali, Mumbai. KSG Strikers won the toss and elected to field first since they have a decent batting line up which can chase any score on their day.

Batting first, KSG Warriors were off to a great start with both their openers Tarak Laheri & Parashar Chitalia scoring quickfire 30’s (36 & 38 respectively).  Eventually, KSG warriors managed to reach a good score ending their innings at 187/6 in 20 overs. Middle order boys Advait Chitalia and Sitanshu Parekh played a crucial hand scoring 41(23) and 43(28) respectively. Both the batsman did a good job at the middle but it was also some good bowling in the depth overs by Manoj Mehta (0/15 in 3 overs) followed by two wickets each for Snehal Mehta and Rippal Mehta.

Chasing 188 on a good batting track with a good batting line up can make things possible and such was the case with Strikers as they went on to chase the score in just 18.5 overs.  Strikers won the match by 5 wkts and an over to spare. Thanks to their dashing opener Amar Bhuta who is known to give great starts again showed his fabulous display of batting. His captain Rajesh Mehta has shown so much faith in him that he told Amar to play his natural game and it doesn’t matter even if he gets out on a duck while playing his natural cricket. He was told that he is a freebird and he can play the way he wants. Right handed batsman amar repaid the faith and freedom given by his captain by scoring a blazing knock of 73 coming off just 39 balls. He was smashing rocket boundaries and sixes in his 39 ball stay at the crease (9 fours and 3 sixes in total) Amar’s batting was so entertaining, even the opposition fielders appreciated the fact that they were enjoying watching him bat.

KSG Strikers won the match comfortably & opener ‘Amar Bhuta’ was adjudged man of the match for his splendid innings. Cricketgraph wishes Amar continues his good form for many more matches to come.
