All-rounder Parth Chandan hits the 1st century of Kanga Knockout’19 this season

Well Kanga Knockout Tournament has begun and it’s officially the start off-season for the cricketing community as Kanga tournaments are played only during mid April to mid September where no other tournaments are conducted during these 4 months. Also for the uninitiated, Kanga Knockout is a pre-selection tournament for teams to get qualified for the Primary-Dr. HD Memorial Kanga League. Scoring runs in such tournaments does become difficult as and when the off season progresses as the wickets get difficult, grasses grow making it difficult to hit boundaries and rains further makes the pitch wet favoring the bowlers more.

Bombay Union Sports Club after being put to bat first registered a good total of 286/6 in 45 overs. Parth Chandan opened the Kanga season hitting the 1st ton scoring a brilliant 115 runs in 108 balls laced with 9 fours and 5 sixes. It was a knock which had some really good cricketing shots as he pushed the team towards a healthy total. Amit Yadav also lended a helping hand scoring a gritty 57

Parth Chandan

Pathare Prabhu Cricketers in reply were all out for 161 runs in 35.1 overs. Sushant Torne fought hard scoring 72 runs but lacked support from the other end. Parth who first top scored with the bat was also the pick of the bowlers taking 4/29 with the ball.
