All-round performance powers bombay gymkhana to a win in MCA u19 Mangrol Cricket Tournament’22

On April 5, Bombay Gymkhana and Apollo Cricket Club clashed against each other during the MCA U19 Mangrol Cricket Tournament. Apollo Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Put in to bat, Bombay Gymkhana scored 4-248 runs in 40 overs. Anshul Murli, who opened the batting, blasted an undefeated 140 off just 110 balls. Murli hammered 23 boundaries and two sixes during his blitzkrieg. Middle order batter Prithviraj Misal joined forces with Murli to plunder run a ball 58. Misal peppered the boundary rope eight times. On the other hand, Apollo Cricket Club’s bowlers did not have any answers to the questions posed by Bombay Gymkhana batters. Prasanna Shukla was the pick of the bowlers as he struck with 2-40 in eight overs.

In reply, Apollo Cricket Club could manage to pile up 180 as they were all out in 37 overs. The opening batting pair set the base however there were no major contributions from the rest. On the other hand, Bombay Gymkhana’s Sohan Talekar rattled the opposition with 4-40 in eight overs. Talekar bowled disciplined lines and lengths to yield rich dividends.

Bombay Gymkhana’s Anshul Murli, Prithviraj Misal and Sohan Talekar were the top performers of the match. The trio helped Bombay Gymkhana script a 68-run win over Apollo Cricket  Club during the MCA U19 Mangrol Cricket Tournament.
