Yuvraj, Poojar and Chaudhary Craft A Handy Victory For The Railways
In their 5th game against Assam in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, The Indian Railways swiftly won the game with 8 wickets in hand.
Bowling first, the Railways gave a splendid performance as they restricted Assam for just 134 runs in 20 overs. Bowling with the new ball, Pradeep Poojar provided a stable start as he finished his 3 overs with a wicket giving away just 14 runs. The pick of the bowlers being Yuvraj Singh who purchased 2 wickets in his 4 overs at the economy rate of 4.5 per over. Apart from timely bowling changes, skipper Karn Sharma had a wicket to his name. Star batsman Shivam Chuadhary bowled a crucial spell of 2 overs and 4 runs, picking up a wicket. Despite Riyan Parag’s effort, Assam managed 134 only.
A flying opening stand of 92 sealed the fate. Pratham Singh (38 off 35) and Shivam Chaudhary (62 off 53) gave a dream start to the Railways. One down batsman Vivek Singh and keeper Upendra Yadav finished off the innings as they won by 8 wickets.
The Railways go up against the mighty Mumbai in the next game.
