Chaudhary’s Heroics In Vain As A No Ball Call Costs Railways The Win
The Indian Railways had another close encounter in the 3rd league game after their dominant victory in the previous game.
Against Rajasthan, Railways were asked to chase. After a slow start, Mahipal Lomror (50 off 44) and Samarpit Joshi (39 off 27) propelled the innings to a competitive total of 167. Yuvraj Singh was the pick of the bowlers taking 2 wickets giving away only 25 runs in his 4 overs. Pradeep Poojar and Dhrushant Soni had a wicket each to their name.
Chasing the total of 167, Railways were off to a shaky start, losing 2 wickets in the first over itself. Shivam Chaudhary anchored the innings well playing 55 balls scoring 70 with 7 boundaries and a maximum to his name. Wicket keepet Upendra Yadav chipped in with 35 off 33 in the middle stages to keep the runchase alive. Scoring a quick fire 22 off just 11, Suraj Ahuja’s cameo had come to an end as he was run out.
Although in the 19th over, the umpire made a mistake and didn’t call which seemed an obvious no ball. The outcome would’ve been drastically and favored the Indian Railways.
Rajasthan sealed the victory in the last over.
The Indian Railways are 2-1 in the league stages. Their next league game against Madhya Pradesh is on 16th of October.
