Super Strikers, Dark Knight Riders, AH Cobras, and Shah Nawabs register wins in TPL

On October 12, the fifth edition of the Tyrant Premier League (TPL) witnessed five thrilling contests at the Catholic Gymkhana Turf in Mumbai. All the games were 13-overs-a-side.

Super Strikers rout Shah Nawabs by 20 runs

Batting first, Super Strikers posted 81/8 in 13 overs, thanks to Manit Varaiya, who top-scored with an unbeaten 21 off 18. On the other hand, Neel Sanghavi was the pick of the bowlers for Shah Nawabs as he scalped 6/2 in two overs. Shah Nawabs were bowled out for 61, falling short of 20 runs. Sanghavi again starred with the bat as he muscled 16 off nine. For Super Strikers, Yashesh Parikh was the most successful bowler, claiming 9/2 in two overs.

Dark Knight Riders beat Sunder Warriors by 14 runs

Dark Knight Riders pulled off a stunning win over Sunder Warriors as they successfully defended 67. Batting first, Dark Knight Riders were restricted to 67/7 in 13 overs. Sunder Warriors’ captain Manan Shah wreaked havoc with the ball as he struck with 6/3 in two overs. On the other hand, Shaival Sheth was the leading run scorer for Dark Knight Riders with 18 off 16. In response, Sunder Warriors were bowled out for 53 in 12.5 overs. Dark Knight Riders’ Chintit Vora and Rahil accounted for two scalps each, while for Sunder Warriors, Daxesh and Sunny Sarkar chipped in with eight runs apiece.

Super Strikers defeat Romil Diamond Royals by 8 runs

In a nail-biting contest between Super Strikers and Romil Diamond Royals, the former beat the latter by eight runs, as they successfully defended 68 runs. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Super Strikers’ innings was done and dusted for 68. Neesarg Ramani was the backbone of Super Strikers’ batting as he mustered a 34-ball 24. For Romil Diamond Royals, Jimit Kothari was the wrecker-in-chief as he struck with 9/3 in two overs. Chasing 69, Romil Diamond Royals faltered as they were castled for 60 in 12.5 overs. Yashesh Parikh rattled Romil Diamond Royals, picking up 9/3 in two overs. Jash Shiroiya was the lone warrior in the fight for Romil Diamond Royals, scoring 28 off 40.

AH Cobras trounce Aadi Strikers by 7 wickets

A high-scoring game was witnessed between AH Cobras and Aadi Strikers as more than 200 runs were scored. Riding on Nirmit’s delectable 60 off 27, Aadi Strikers put 100 runs on board. Hussain Bootwala and Rushabh Shah chipped in a couple of wickets each for the AH Cobras. In reply, AH Cobras overhauled the target with eight wickets in hand. The opening pair of Bootwala and Parth Shah (31) shared an 87-run partnership to set the tone for the run chase. Bootwala hammered an undefeated 50 off 28. On the other hand, Aadi Strikers had an off day with the ball as they managed to pick up just two wickets, including one run out. Yashesh was the lone wicket-taker.

Shah Nawabs pip Aashni Legends by 24 runs

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Shah Nawabs scored 97/7 in 13 overs, riding on Rushabh Doshi’s 30 and Nel Sanghavi’s 28 not out. For Aashni Legends, Roshan Sanghvi and Vishal were the most successful bowlers, picking up two wickets each. In reply, Aashni Legends could only score 73/7 in 13 overs, falling shy of 24 runs. Yash Pethani top-scored with a 24-ball 15, while for Shah Nawabs, Priyank Soni, Doshi, Ankit Shah, captain Rushabh Shah, and Amit Shah accounted for one scalp apiece.
