Pushkar smashes his 4th hundred in Nairobi Provincial Tournament’21
Another day and another century for the Kenyan batter, Pushkar Sharma. There are cricketers who feel proud when they score a ton in a tournament and then comes this swashbuckling southpaw, who hit his fourth century of the ongoing Nairobi Provincial tournament this Sunday.
It was an encounter between Ruaraka A and SCLPS club. Pushkar’s team had won the toss and elected to bat first. Ruaurka ‘A’ lost wickets of opener Chandresh Hirani and one-down batter, Nitish Hirani in quick succession.
Mahendra Siyani deserves the credit behind this situation. Pushkar had opened the innings with Chandresh Hirani and had to take control of the innings from one end. He played his natural game and avoided unnecessary risks while his stay. Both Zephania and Gill looked good but couldn’t continue batting for long as they soon fell prey to some lethal bowling from SCLPS.
Pushkar was the lone warrior in this innings smacking 12 boundaries and 2 sixes. He went onto score 109 runs from 96 deliveries. His innings comrpised of some fascinating shots played at most parts of the ground. He helped his team get to a total of 214 and later on Ruaraka A defended quite well as they bundled SCPLS for 148. Sachin Gill and Vishil were brilliant with the ball as the former picked up two wickets and the later scalped a four-fer.
Pushkar has been in excellent form in this tournament amassing 715 runs in 10 matches so far with an average of 89.38 and strike rate of 103.77.
