Vishal Pandey’s quick 50 helps Sony Pictures win the Knockouts of the Masters Cup Tournament

It was the crucial knockout competition between two equally strong sides namely Sony Pictures & Deutsche Bank at Chereshwar Cricket Ground, Trombay. Sony Pictures won the toss & elected to bat first and put the opposition under pressure by restricting them to a low total.

Batting first, Deutsche Bank did a reasonably good job as they managed to score a defendable 147/6 in 20 overs. Opener Anirudh gave a good start with his 23 ball 28 which was followed by some good batting at the middle order A Sharma scored a crucial 27 ball 43*followed by 29 off 28 balls by Kushal.  A Singh & V Pandey were the pick of the bowlers for Sony with bowling figures of 2/12 & 2/15 respectively. The bowlers did a good job but it was also some good batting at the middle order which took their team total to a competitive one of 147 in 20 overs.

Chasing 148, Openers S Punjabi & Patil scored 25(29) and 27(14) respectively but it was their no.3 batsman Vishal Pandey who finished the chase for his team. It almost looked like Vishal was on a mission to finish the match in style as he smashed a blazing 55 coming off just 37 balls which included 6 stunning fours and a big six. He was also nicely supported by Raul who scored a solid 31* off 30 balls helping his team win the match by 7 wkts & 1.3 overs to spare.

Vishal Pandey was adjudged ‘man of the match’ for his brilliant fifty & Cricketgraph congratulates Vishal & his whole team to continue their good form which will eventually help them win the tournament too.
