Unmesh Khanvilkar (40 & 2wkts) and Krunal Thakkar (43*) play vital roles in finals win for DY Patil in the Shri Barku G Patil T20 League’19
DY Patil after opting to bat first at Trombay, Koliwada managed to post a total of 152/6 in 20 overs which is if not less atleast a competitive total to defend. Unmesh Khanvilkar opening the innings played a solid knock of 40 runs (38 balls) taking singles and twos, building the innings almost till the 16th over of the game. Krunal Thakkar who came at no.6 played the finishers role scoring 43* off 30 balls helping DY cross the 150 run mark. Kulwinder Singh with 2/25 in 4 overs was the pick of the bowlers for Andheri Team.
Andheri Team chasing 153 reached only 142/9 in 20 overs. DY Patil bowlers bowled well in the death overs which eventually helped them win the all important finals by 10 runs. Viren Dedhia (3/21 in 4 overs), Kartik Shetty (2/13 in 4 overs) & Unmesh Khanvilkar (2/37 in 4 overs) played crucial roles with the ball.
DY Patil team win the all important finals and lift the prestigious Shri Barku G Patil T Trophy’19 while Umesh Khanvilkar was declared ‘man of the match” for the finals. DY Patil bowlers also did an excellent job especially Viren and Kartik bowling economical spells.
