Union CC wins on the back of Niranjan Paradkar’s 83* & Kunal Patel’s 4wkts in the Mumbai Junior Shield ‘18

Played at Sunder CC, Cross maidan between Sporting Club Committee Thane and Union Cricket Club, it was a crucial clash where in Sporting Club won the toss and elected to bat first with an aim of making a big target and putting Union CC under pressure.

However, Sporting Club were not able to make much of an impact batting first as they were all out for 149runs in 33.5 overs. Pankajraj Patel at the middle order was the highest scorer with 33* while left arm spinner Kunal Patel was the pick of the bowlers coming up with impressive bowling figures of 4/34 in 9overs(3maidens). Right arm medium pacer Jay Thakkur also bowled well chipping in with 3wkts. Both the bowlers were bowling in the right areas while also kept on giving crucial breakthroughs at the right moments.

Chasing 150, Union CC did lost a few early wickets but Niranjan Paradkar who came in at no.4 took the match away with his blazing knock of 83* off 43balls. Niranjan smashed 7fours and 4sixes and did not spare any bowler covering almost every corners of the ground with his attacking batting. Union CC won the match with ease by 7wkts on the back of some good bowling as well as Niranjan’s match winning 83*
