Sanchit Guides Sainath CA TO Victory; Defeat Abhay CC

In the ongoing MD Memorial Cup 2023 U-14 Cricket Tournament, SK Sainath CA locked horns with Abhay Cricket Club in an enticing game of cricket. After winning the toss, Abhay Cricket Club elected to bowl first. SK Sainath CA hammered a competitive total of 222, losing 7 wickets in the process. Opener Aditya Yadav held one end by facing 86 and scoring crucial 54 runs for his team with 5 boundaries. Rudra Patil (36 off 58) and Sanchit Sawatkar (35 off 26) made crucial contributions in the middle stages to help push the team’s final total. From Abhay CC, captain Vedant Gore claimed 3 wickets at a stellar economy of just 2.62.; In his 8 overs, he conceded only 21 runs with a maiden to his name. Despite their best efforts, Sainath had the upper hand by the end of the first innings.

As the run chase began, Abhay CC lost wickets in a heap. Despite Sudhan’s effort at the top (30 off 29) the other end collapsed. Skipper Gore tries his level best by scoring 39 off just 36 but unfortunately they were bowled out for just 154 in the 33rd over. From Sainath, Arush Yadav’s spell of 3/21 in 7 overs was the bowling highlights as his team sealed the game with a margin of 68 runs. Sanchit Sawatkar claimed 2 wickets as well.

For his brilliant all-round performance, Sanchit was named as the Man of the Match.
