Rizvi Springfield clinches a narrow 1wkt win over SVIS to lift the prestigious title of Mumbai Indians Inter School Tournament’19

Into the all important finale at the Air India Sports Club, Kalina, two of the powerhouse teams at school level-SVIS Borivali which is known to churn out IPL and Indian Cricket Stars and Rizvi which is considered the strongest team in the school level took on each other with SVIS skipper Ayush opting to bat first with an aim of posting a big total on the board.

SVIS who have a formidable batting line up suffered a collapse with the whole team getting all out for 148 runs in 38.5 overs.  Off-spinner Tejas Chalke’s spell of 4/23 in 4.5 overs proved to be too costly for the opposite team.

SVIS Team who are not known to give up easily ensured they gave a tough fight fighting it out till the end. Rizvi were on the brink of losing the finals had it not been Owaish Shaikh’s 39*at no.8 along with 24 crucial runs by Ravi Gupta at no.10. Medium pacers Adwait and Varad gave SVIS breakthroughs but it was Owais taking that winning run for Rizvi in a nerve-wrenching thriller of a finals which made them the winners of the Mumbai Indians U14 Inter School Tournament winning the match by just 1 wkt in 38 overs.
