Rakesh Naik Slams Ton As Sandeep Claims 5 To Help Borivali CC Win In Summer Shield

Borivali CC took on Mandvi Muslim SC in the pre-quarter of the Summer Shield tournament. As Borivali CC padded up first, opener Sushant Kadam started off the innings with 65 runs to his name off 63 balls forming a partnership alongside Hanumant Matkar who scored a half-century of his own. But the power punch came from Rakesh Naik down the order. Coming at 4 number, Naik hammered an unbeaten 127 off just 92 balls. His innings comprised off 13 fours and 4 sixes, taking his team’s total to 334 in 45 overs. Mandvi Muslim managed to claim just 4 wickets in the first innings.

Mandvi Muslim set out to chase the mammoth target but found themselves reeling at 59 for 7. Sanskar Shirgaonkar batted his heart out by facing 127 balls and scoring 64 but unfortunately that wasn’t enough. Borivali CC restricted Mandvi Muslim for just 146 in 45 overs. Sandeep Yadav bowled an exceptional spell of 5/19 in 9 overs, helping his team win comfortably.
