Powai CA trounce RC Sports Club by 9 wickets in MD Memorial Cup

Powai CA demolished RC Sports Club by nine wickets on January 5 during the MD Memorial Cup. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, RC Sports Club were restricted to a modest total of 73/5 in 20 overs. Ayaansh Chitkara (29) and Ujjwal Singh (21) were the major contributors with the bat for RC Sports Club. On the other hand, Powai CA’s Hridhan Singh Rauthan was the most successful bowler with 6/3 in four overs, including two maidens.

In response, Powai CA overhauled the target in 9.1 overs and won the match by nine wickets. Atharva Kore was at the helm of the run chase. Kore smashed an undefeated 40 off 29, hitting six fours and clearing the rope once. On the other hand, Powai CA’s Yadnya Patil was the only wicket-taker for his side with 14/1 in two overs.

Cricket is a sport that Juili picked up right from her childhood days. Her journey from playing with the boys in the compound walls to practising under the able aegis of Jonty Rhodes has been a spectacular one.
She was a part of Mumbai Women’s U-19 and U-23 probables during her four-year stint at the MCA. As a middle order bat and a part time medium pace bowler, she also represented Mumbai University at All-India University Women’s Cricket for two years.

In the quest of further education, she discontinued with the sport. Currently she is pursuing her Ph.D in Finance from IIT Bombay’s School of Management.
