Payyade Sports Club takes first innings lead against Fort Vijay Cricket Club in A division Kanga match

Mumbai Ranji Trophy player Akhil Herwadkar’s all-round performance helped his team Payyade Sports Club to take the first innings lead against Fort Vijay Cricket Club on 21^st August in Mumbai during the A division Kanga League match. Batting first, Fort Vijay was bundled out for a meagre 87. Rahul lad top scored with 34 runs. Mumbai player Harmeet Singh and Akhil Herwadkar were the wreckers-in-chief picking up 5-39 and 4-15 respectively. Both these players bowled well in tandem, not allowing the opposition to score freely.

In the second innings, Payyade declared at 123-3. Onkar Khanvilkar (48) and Akhil Herwadkar (45) played well and formed the back bone of their team’s batting. The match ended at 37-5 for Fort Vijay. The match ended in a draw with Payyade taking the first innings lead.
