Opener Omkar Rahate’s magnificent 131 helps Sporting CC win the semis of Thosar Shield Tournament’19
Sporting CC after opting to bat first at Central Maidan mustered a total of 276/6 in 45 overs. Opening the innings, Omkar Rahate once again played a splendid knock of 131 runs. Taking less than run a ball, Omkar kept the scoreboard ticking hitting 11 fours and 4 sixes as his knock ensured the team reached a respectable total.
Deccan Cricket Club in reply were all out for 216 runs in 41.2 overs. Opener Vivek Yadav scored a gritty half century while Rohit Phatak’s quick 41 balls 66 at no.9 suddenly raised hopes for a blinder of a win.
Eventually, Sporting CC won the match by 60 runs while it was Omkar grabbing the limelight with his impressive ton.
