Nipun Panchal’s fifer sparks a brilliant start in the opening game of Thane Premier League’22

The opening ceremony of Thane Premier League was conducted on 1St of May 2022 at Dadaji Konddev Stadium in Thane. The opening ceremony witnessed some major politicians and prolific names taking the Centre Stage. A grand opening of a grand event! The most fun, exciting, and intense Thane Premier League, Season 10 was inaugurated by Mr. Eknath Ji Shinde, Guardian Minister and Minister of Urban Development of Maharashtra on Maharashtra Day. Also with us, we had Mr. Rajan Ji Vichare, MP, Shiv Sena. Here’s to the infinite boundaries, wickets, and joys! Other politicians who graced the opening ceremony included the likes of  Naresh Mhaske (Mayor, thane city), Ravindra Phatak (MLA shiv sena), Namrata Bhosale( Ex corporator Thane municipal corporation) & DR . Bipin Sharma (Commissioner Thane municipal corporation).

The opening match of the tournament was played between Eknath Shinde CC 1 vs Regal Sports Academy where in Regal Sports Academy after being put to bat first managed a total of 143/7 in 20 overs. Gaurav Jathar at no.5 top scored with 59 runs off 36 balls. From the bowlers, it was right armer Nipun Panchal who displayed amazing performance to return with envious bowling figures of 5/26 in 4 overs. Off the 6 wkts lost by Regal, Nipun bagged 5 of those providing timely breakthroughs.

Eknath Shinde CC in reply chased down the score in mere 13 overs winning the match handsomely by 9 wkts and 7 overs to spare. Openers Akhil Herwadkar and Jaideep Pardeshi gave a flying start of 95 runs within 8 overs as both the players scored match winning half centuries. Akhil scored 51 off 28 balls while Jaideep scored 71* off mere 32 balls to finish things in style.
