Megh Adhwaryu’s quick 30 ball 63* helps PJ Hindu Gymkhana “A” win the PJHG 125th Celebration T20 Tournament’19

Cricket Club of India after opting to bat first posted a competitive total of 151/5 in 20 overs. Siddarth Jadeja at no.5 remained unbeaten on 41* off 29 balls top scoring for CCI while the rest the batsman came up with starts but could not convert it into something substantial. Vedant Gabhawala bowled a match winning spell of 2/24 in 4 overs which are impressive numbers for a T20 match. Apart from him Kunal Shroff bagged 2 wkts for 36 runs.

Chasing 151, PJ Hindu Gymkhana openers Maulik Merchant (41 off 31b) and Suhel Mistry (43*) gave a solid start while it was Megh coming at no.3 finishing off things for his team. Megh stitched a brilliant partnership with Suhel who was anchoring the chase coming up with a swashbuckling knock of 63* in mere 30 balls. Megh who is also the skipper led from the front hitting 6 biggies with 3 boundaries as PJ Hindu Gymkhana won the match by 9 wkts and 16 balls to spare.

PJ Hindu Gymkhana wins the finals of the 125 years of Hindu Gymkhana Celebration Tournament. Megh Adhwaryu who scored a brilliant half century in the finals was also declared “Man of the Series” Maulik Merchant was declared the “Best Batsman”. Dwij Adhwaryu who is also Megh’s brother was declared the Best Bowler. Shaleen Toshniwal from CCI was declared the “Best Fielder.
