Mayuresh Tandel (155) continues form while Subbu’s (160*) back to back tons puts DY in semis in the Young Comrade Shield’19
Young Comrade CC after electing to bat first on DY Patil, Nerul managed to score 350/10 in 76.2 overs. Mayuresh Tandel who has 298 runs in 3 innings once again proved to be the rescueman for his team. Mayuresh who had scored 161 in Purshottam Shield for his team this season when no batsman was able to score more than 40 once again repeated such an innings top scoring with 155 in 172 balls at no.4. Mayuresh smashed 15 fours and 3 sixes at a healthy strike rate while Viraj Krishna (53) brought his 2nd back to back half century at no.6.
DY Patil with 2/18 at one point had given the positive momentum to the opposite team but the rock solid Subbu ensured he guided his team towards a sparkling win. Just fresh from a hundred last week in the same tournament, Subramaniam Doraswamy once again played a match winning knock of 160*off 183 balls (25 fours). Subbu had a partnership of 134 runs with Shashank Singh (77 runs) for the 3rd wicket and a unbeaten 169* run stand with Yogesh Pawar (81*) for the 6th wicket as DY Patil crossed the victory line in 66.1 overs entering the semi-finals of the tournament.
