Left arm spinner Karan Patil’s fifer rattles Khandala CC in the Bombay Junior Shield’20
Mandvi Muslim Sports Club after electing to bat first could not muster up a big total at Cross Maidan getting all out for 144 runs in 38.4 overs. With most of the batsman chipping in with starts, they required someone who could score atleast a half century to stabilize their innings. Leg break bowler Aman Harchirkar with 4/28 in 9 overs was the pick of the lot for khandala CC while Arsh Krishnater with 3/24 was also quite supportive with the ball.
Khandala CC also faced the same issue with none of their players managing to convert their starts. Even though they looked strong at one stage with Arsh K and Ninad stitching 54 runs for the 3rd wicket, Mandvi Muslim bowlers came back in the last session taking some timely wickets. Left arm spinner Karan Patil not only broke the partnership of Arsh and Ninad, he also dismissed both the set players followed by some another wickets at the middle order as he came up with a match winning spell of 5/39 in 9 overs. Karan was nicely supported by Tejas Nawale who took the last 3 wkts in a quick succession which resulted in a tie with Khandala CC also getting all out for 144 runs in 31.5 overs.
Result-Mandvi Muslim Sports Club were eventually declared winners on the basis of toss win.
