Kartik Savla’s all-round performance helps Modern Cricket Club win in Kanga Knock Out Tournament’22
On May 1, Modern Cricket Club took on Apollo Youngsters during the Group A match of Kanga Knock Out Tournament. Modern Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat first at Cross Maidan in Mumbai.
Batting first, Modern Cricket Club posted a respectable score of 235 in 44.5 overs. Rutunjay Rahane top scored with 69 runs off 70 balls. The middle order batter smashed eight boundaries and a six during his innings. Ravi Vishwakarma was the other major contributor with the bat who mustered a 57-ball 39. On the other hand, for Apollo Youngsters, Atharva Parab and Vishal Gajra were the most successful bowlers. The duo scalped three wickets apiece.
In reply, Apollo Youngsters were bundled out cheaply for 139 in 37.4 overs. Omkar Patankar (39) and Hrishikesh Sule (32) fought hard but failed to take their side home. Apart from Patankar and Sule, there were no other major contributions with the bat for Apollo Youngsters. On the other hand, Ravi Vishwakarma (3-23) and Kartik Savla (3-35) wreaked havoc with the ball for Modern Cricket Club as they claimed three wickets apiece. Early in the day, Savla also scored 19 runs off 25 balls.
A combined team effort helped Modern Cricket Club beat Apollo Youngsters by 96 runs during the Group A match of Kanga Knock Out Tournament.
